My Journey

Susan Ezzell

I have been dabbling in different artistic activities all my life. As a child, I would arrange my grandmother's old, plastic flowers into new arrangements. I explored rock polishing, making dyes from poke salad berries, and cooking up some sassafras tea over a little fire with my cousin. How creative we were with her mother's good sauce pan!

In the 80's, I jumped onto the folk art bandwagon. I painted pineapples, ducks, and all sorts of folksy things. That's really when I discovered a joy in painting. In recent years, I studied with local artists who taught me about painting with watercolor and acrylics. I enjoy the challenge of watercolor and the flexibility of acrylics. I love to open my mind to possibilities of expression. I am learning and growing as an artist, and I like where I'm going. Thank you for visiting my site.
